One thing to know about me is I love brunch. When I lived in California, I knew all the best spots and it was a rare Saturday you wouldn’t find me at a brunch in the sun. Naturally for our trip to Austin we had to seek out a good brunch spot. And we found it!
Banger’s is an amazing outdoor beer garden known for it sausages, but more importantly known for its MAN-mosas. Manmosas are not your average mimosa. They come with an entire bottle of champagne. When they say everything is bigger in Texas, I had no idea this is what they meant.
Not only was the champagne flowing, but for Sunday brunch the crowd was friendly and the music was impossible not to dance to. They had a brass band covering all of the classics. We had to wait a while for our table, apparently we weren’t the only ones who wanted a good sausage and big mimosa. We waited next to a dog pen watching all of the puppies run and play while their families ate. It wasn’t a bad place to wait.
We sat in traditional beer garden style, at a long wooden table wedged between strangers who quickly became friends. We each ordered our own sausages and shared from each others’ plates. It ended up taking a while for us to get our food and the server comp-ed most of our bill without us even asking! True southern hospitality. After I finished my manmosa, I was nearly convinced to take up Banger’s on their offer of a free tattoo! I’ve always pictured getting a tattoo randomly at a meaningful time in my life so when I saw the offer, I thought it was fate. If any of you ever go and end up getting this tattoo, please share!
Brunch ended with full bellies and a conga line around the whole beer garden dancing to the band playing Whitney’s I Wanna Dance with Somebody.
